Modifying the Sheath
This should guide you through recovering the original sheath with something more durable. I recommend either heavy canvas or pack-cloth for the cover, and heavy 2" wide nylon strapping for the belt loop and frog. This animation takes about 30 seconds and will show what I did to cover the wooden sheath inserts.
